Duties:
-Work as part of the paving crew primarily performing raking, shoveling of asphalt, sweeping up debris and redistributing the asphalt mix for rolling
-Complete a variety of general labour assignments such as clean and prepare sites, maintain a clean job site, pick up tools and equipment in order to eliminate potential hazards
-Be responsible for the finished product while enforcing proper safety and traffic precations
-Finish surfaces by smoothing and tamping asphalt material to the proper grade and thickness to properly adhere material to surface
-Operate a variety of hand and power tools as well as some equipment
-Display professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and general public at all times
-Repair other relate duties such as but not limited to landscaping, wet basement repair, tree care and interlocking brick
-All other assigned duties
Qualifications:
-Experience in labour
-Able to work varying shifts (12 hours at times, other times 5-6 hours)
-Able to work in varying weather conditions (hot, cold, damp etc.)
-Able to take direction well and work within a team setting
-Strong work ethic and motivated to complete tasks
-Strong communications skills
Will need hard hat, steel toe boots, gloves and a vest.
Employer has extra if client doesn’t have their own
Could lead to snow removal in the winter months
