Camp Counsellor

Duties include but are not limited to:
-Leading activities for a group of campers as assigned by Head Office
-Leading inquiry and discussion surrounding activities
-Assisting campers in learning more about projects
-Creating a fun, enjoyable, and safe atmosphere for campers
-Model appropriate behaviour and positive interactions in every session with campers and peers
-Setting the tone by being an example for each camper by actively leading camper activities and showing interest in each camper and their work through activities
-Ensuring all campers under care are treated equally, consistently and fairly
-Assuming the responsibility of leadership with consistent and specific direction in the supervision of campers
-Using only Head Office approved websites, online tools and videos in camp activities
-Demonstrate emotional maturity, positive attitude, thoughtfulness and stability in decision making
-Self-confidence and able to accept and adopt constructive feedback
-Provide appropriate feedback to and communicate with parents/guardians
-Complete all company training and abide by Camp policies and procedures
-Carry out other reasonable administrative duty requests for any member of the Management Team
-Develop activities for Camp
-Examine and implement market research surrounding fall programing by phoning customers and researching educational market trends
-Ensuring sessions are running smoothly and that both campers and counsellors are following Camp guidelines by watching and reviewing recorded sessions when operating a virtual camp
-Ensure each sessions has materials needed to run smoothly by creating different games and activities for campers (age 5-13) to engage in as they work through the program material with their counsellors
-All other assigned duties

Qualifications:
-Able to come prepared daily
-Strong professional oral and written communication skills
-Able to create activities based on approved curriculum
-Experience in creating and implementing activities
-Experience working with children
-Knowledge of STEM
-Able to complete all related training session(s)
-Able to demonstrate emotional maturity, a positive attitude, thoughtfulness and stability in decision-making
-Reliable and organized
-Able to perform market-based research
-Able to take direction and hold others accountable as needed
