DIRECTOR – FIRST PEOPLES’ CENTRE AND INDIGENOUS ENGAGEMENT

The Director is responsible for providing leadership and management to the day-to-day operations of the specified portfolio, including specific leadership focus on advancing Indigenous student achievement and partnership initiatives while leading and supporting research.

The incumbent will support the efforts to implement the Indigenous Strategic Framework, a vision for the entire College community to achieve meaningful integration of Indigenous knowledge, cultural traditions and community into the development of academic programs, applied research projects and College policies.

The Director will execute a range of management functions as a member of the Student Services Leadership Team and will administer aspects of the College’s Strategic Plans, Indigenous Strategic Framework and Enrolment Management Plan with a special focus on Access, student pathways and business development opportunities. The incumbent will foster relationships internally and externally and support strategies to attract students to the College.

Through proactive planning, the Director will organize and prioritize tasks to foster excellence within the overall college-program mix as well as ensure a positive reputation that is consistent with the mission and vision and commitment to its 5 Pillars; Student Success, Program and Service Excellence, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Connection to Community and Sustainability.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· The incumbent has lived experience as an Indigenous, Métis or Inuit person

· Completion of a four year Diploma/Degree, coupled with specialization within the area of business development; Master’s Degree preferred or equivalent in a related area (e.g. Educational Administration, Adult Education, Public Administration)

· Minimum nine (9) years’ recent leadership experience in a related field, including experience in curriculum development, consensus-based dispute resolution, marketing, public relations, budgeting and human resources management

· Knowledge of Indigenous language, protocols and practice
