The part-time Front Desk Clerk at the North Bay and District Humane Society is responsible for demonstrating exemplary customer service to shelter visitors while providing shelter animals with proper feeding, constant cleanliness and compassionate care.
As a Front Desk Clerk, you will act as the first point of contact at the Humane Society, handle questions from the public in-person, on the phone and by email and relay messages as
necessary. This role requires a high level of enthusiasm, hospitality and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
In addition to a wide range of day-to-day front office duties (including data entry, processing payments and donations and daily cash reconciliation) the Front Desk Clerk also works as part of a dedicated and passionate team providing a clean, safe and humane environment for the animals in care including, maintaining sanitary living conditions, feeding, watering and grooming as well as observing and reporting on health and behavior conditions.
The successful candidate must possess outstanding customer service skills, advanced written and oral communication, familiarity with basic accounting, strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills and proven organization routines. Applicants must also be very comfortable handling cats and dogs of all shapes and sizes.
