Human Resources Advisor

Working with business units, provide human resources support, advice and coaching to managers
As an active participant with the manager, provide insight on business issues and advocate for people and organizational priorities
Provide education, advice, coaching and consulting to managers
Translate business demands and needs into HR objectives and ensure consistency with organization standards
Influence the design of HR programs and the roll out of programs designed in partnership managers and employees
Work with managers to identify and act on specific opportunities to enhance business and organizational effectiveness
Provide a reliable and predictable experience across the organization through consistent application and alignment of HR policies, programs and practices
Coach managers to effectively handle employee performance and conflict issues
Partner with mangers to effectively respond to team/organizational issues
Responsible for all aspects of business unit’s recruitment objectives and goals
Lead talent acquisition plan for business unit’s leveraging social media, networking events, job boards and other sourcing ideas to identify and hire talent
Establish and maintain metrics to show performance and effectiveness of recruitment programs
Work with department managers to forecast hiring needs and create applicant pool
Support management efficiently to ensure application of human resources practices, legislation, programs, policies and regulations for operations
Support and develop recognition initiatives focused on employee engagement
Conduct exit interviews and prepare results
Manage leave programs for designated business units including WSIB, STD and LTD
Responsible for administering employee review process

Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field
Minimum 3 years of experience in Human Resources
CHRP/CHRL Designation is an asset
Proven computer skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code and regulations
Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively across the organization while ensuring confidentiality and professionalism
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Candidates must be eligible to work for a Canadian company and provide a clear criminal background check.
