Our 73-bed bilingual facility is dedicated to providing “A Place Called Home” in long-term care for the people of Mattawa, East Nipissing, and other residents of Ontario. We are sponsored by the Catholic Health Sponsors of Ontario and licensed under the Ministry of Health, and accredited by Accreditation Canada. Our goal is to use a team approach in order to provide a safe, clean, comfortable and pleasing home atmosphere for residents and their families.
Minimal Education:
.BSCN Nursing
.Current certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing
.Basic Cardiac Life Support certificate (Basic Rescuer)
Core Competencies:
.Demonstrates competencies as per long term care competency-based checklist
Additional Skills & Functional/Technical Competencies:
.Preferably bilingual (French/English)
.Compliance with confidentiality requirements
.Minimum 1 year recent relevant experience preferred
.Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with the Algonquin Nursing Home standards
.Demonstrates commitment to continuing education
.Demonstrates ability to work and function independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
.Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, critical thinking and problem solving skills
.Demonstrates great leadership skills
.Demonstrates excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills
.Excellent attendance and work record required
.Client service oriented, respecting diversity amongst individuals
You will be familiar with terms related to long-term care, and your interpersonal /communication skills will provide you with the ability to liaise with staff, residents, and visitors. As a team player, you will have a genuine interest in the care and services of the residents in this nursing home, and will maintain confidentiality at all times.
Shifts include day, evening and night shifts.
