Service Writer
 Assisting service managers with daily operations
Assisting the parts department with calls and customers
Ascertains automotive problems and services by listening to customer’s description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; checking vehicle maintenance records; examining service schedules.
Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions.
Develops estimated by costing materials, supplies, and labor; calculating customer’s payments, including deductibles.
Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and service required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database system.
Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customers’ approval of estimates; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database system.
Maintains automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturer’s publications.
Warranty Administrator
Understand warranty regulations and be able to provide consultation and training to service manager, technicians, sales and the parts department on the proper procedure to proceed with a warranty claim.
Control of Warrant y Parts return process ensuring compliance with returnable service parts policies.
Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions, familiarity with Business Vision operating system is an asset.
Develop and assist in implementing standardized warranty claim processes.
Process warranty claims including computation of charges and filing with the correct manufacturing company within 48 hours of completion and follow-up to be certain claims are paid. Follow up on outstanding warranty claims weekly.
Assist the Service Manager in the process and organization of bulletins and updates of units requiring repairs from manufacturers.
Manage personnel as required in opening/closing of all work orders for shop

 

wages will be between $19.00 To $21.00 per hour.
