The Director of Remanufacturing is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of external and internal programs, projects and contracts related to freight and passenger car work within the Ontario Northland North Bay remanufacturing facilities. The director responsibilities include the oversight of all aspects of the projects including tender responses, quotations, capacity planning, staffing, scheduling, materials procurement, engineering, quality assurance, fabrication, maintenance, customer relations, reporting and invoicing. Develops and maintains a continuous improvement environment within the division.
Major Duties/ Responsibilities
- Ensures production schedules and revenue targets are met in a safe and efficient manner
- Oversees scheduled program review meetings with the customer, contract invoicing and status reports for stake holders
- Implements contract change orders as defined by negotiation with customer
- Manages administration of ONTC refurbishment Warranty
- Maintains a strong working relationship with internal and external clients
- Develops and maintains a continuous improvement environment within the division including lean manufacturing
- Responsible for the preparation of yearly operating budgets and contributes to the business/strategic plan
- Responsible for monthly/quarterly/yearly reporting on budget variances including providing recommendations for improving the financial results of the division and developing mitigation plans
- Responsible for the review and evaluation of all performance metrics to ensure cost containment and maximization of revenues
- Assists Quality Assurance Department and Purchasing in resolving major issues with supplier quality or delivery
- Assists with negotiations with customers on issues that may develop throughout the life of the contracts
