 Clean and restocking of all linen, Kleenex, paper towel and toilet paper.
 Laundry as required. Ensure lint screen from dryers is cleaned after each cycle
 Clean and sanitize washrooms. This will include but is not limited to: showers, toilets, sinks, floors and mirrors
 Keep an inventory of all cleaning supplies to ensure there is an adequate stock
 Ensure all chemicals and cleaners are safely stored in proper storage containers and areas by complying with WHMIS and HSE guidelines
 Shall attend all safety meetings and participate in Client and/or Aramark Emergency Response Procedures
 Additional duties may be assigned

Physical Demands Requirements (Must be able to):

Primary responsibilities:

3. Required to perform duties in accordance with the standards established by the College of Nurses of Ontario including
preparing, administering and recording medications and treatments given.
4. Assess, report and document changes in residents’ physical and emotional conditions. Maintain records that reflect
residents’ needs, behaviours and care provided.
5. Assist with meal serving, feeding and ensuring that residents requiring assistance receive it.
6. Perform personal care and selected nursing functions to promote the comfort and safety of the resident.
7. Provide palliative care, including post-mortem care when necessary.
8. Take residents to and from activities, appointments, and co-operate at all times in providing assistance with social, religious
and recreational activities.
9. Share the responsibility for the care of equipment in the facility and personal belongings of the residents.
10. In the absence of the Director of Resident Care and Registered Nurse, take charge and supervise shift. i.e. Supervise care
provided by Nursing Aides and Orderlies to ensure that departmental policies and procedures are being met.
11. Co-operate with other departments while performing duties.
12. Practise and promote safe working habits.
13. Work, communicate and co-operate satisfactorily with residents, staff, family and others.
14. Show others how to perform tasks or duties.
15. Attend in-service and Staff Development Programs and nursing staff meetings.
16. Comply with the Fire, Health and Safety Regulations and attain proficiency in the methods of sounding the fire alarm, fire
evacuation procedures, proper use of fire extinguishing equipment and other procedures designed to ensure the security
and protection of residents of the Home. When required assume the role of Fire Control Officer.
17. Perform other related duties as may be assigned and in the event of an emergency perform other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

1. Ontario Secondary School Diploma required.
2. Must be registered with the Ontario College of Nurses.
3. Must have the Pharmacology course.
4. Ability to satisfactorily operate nursing equipment.
5. Have experience working in Nursing in a Long-Term Care setting.
6. Ability to work and communicate with the residents, staff and others.
7. Ability to speak, read, write and understand English.
8. Ability to follow a work day, evening, night shifts.
9. Ability to work in a long-term care home and provide services for the residents.
