The Guest Service Representative will be trained to follow appropriate administrative procedures, including verifying guest’s registration and payment information, properly handle financial transactions, responding to general inquiries from guests/clients, assist in maintaining a clean, welcoming and safe environment and communicating effectively with internal and external departments and supervisors.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

This position will assist with the following:

-Handle guest check-ins and check-outs appropriately
-Accept room registration and individual payments as required at the front desk via phone, email and/or in person
-Take reservations over the telephone, through emails and in person
-Answer queries regarding accommodation services, charges, facilities, travel directions, etc.
-Provide tourist information and general North Bay information to visitors and guests
-Working with housekeeping, maintenance and other university departments to fulfill guests needs and complete assigned tasks
-Resolving service issues and guest complaints by providing appropriate and timely solutions, and follow-up to ensure resolution
-Explain appropriate emergency and security information to guests
-Manage accurate accounting of all rooms
-Recruit, accept and confirm conference registrations

-Balance, organize and prepare cash and credit payment transactions received daily for accurate financial balancing and reconciliation

-Perform a variety of cleaning and housekeeping duties such as; laundry, sweeping, mopping, garbage disposal, dusting, dressing suites, sanitization of office and lobby, etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Part of a team, which is responsible for assisting with the deep cleaning of the residence buildings at Nipissing University

DUTIES INCLUDE:

-Cleaning residence common areas daily (includes lobbies, laundry rooms, office, public washrooms etc.)
-Room setups as required by corporate events clients in the residence buildings
-Cleaning and turnover of residence bedrooms, suites, and townhouses as required for summer guests (cleaning bathrooms, common areas, kitchens, bed making, garbage removal etc.)
-Daily housekeeping services for groups (daily bed making, towel change and suite cleaning)
-Report any deficiencies or damages in residence rooms, units and/ or buildings in a timely and efficient manner
-Complex turn over (cleaning and preparation) from the academic year to the summer accommodation season and back to academic year at the end of the summer (includes refrigerators, stoves, toilets, etc.)
-Annual ‘deep cleaning’ program (e.g. window cleaning, vent and duct cleaning, upholstery and carpet cleaning, washing curtains, etc.)

-Will assist with late night check ins within their complex

-Works in pairs; there is always a main person and secondary person on call each night
