The Bit Plant Technician is responsible for assisting in the fabrication of all Diamond products (including but not limited to Bits, Reaming Shells, Casing Shoes, and Locking Couplings) while adhering to all  quality and safety standards.

Proficient with Diamond Room equipment such as presses, measuring scales, mixers etc.
Use of sand blast cabinet to clean blanks prior to assembly.
Selection/ assembly of carbon components and blanks.
Mix recipes, pour/ press powders, set diamonds/ inserts to specified requirement and add appropriate binders prior to furnacing.
Pressing out carbon plugs and disassemble molds using hydraulic press and cleaning reusable components using the equipment in the breakout room.
Operating sandblast units, power tools and hand tools such as air chisels, files, and hammers to remove larger pieces of carbon, sharp edges, and prep for painting.
Inspect and touch up minor defects as needed, prime and paint using paint booth, print tags and box finished product.
Record inventory usage of finished product using an ERP system (AS400).
Load/ unload furnaces using appropriate equipment and PPE.
Safe operation of induction and box furnaces and determine cycle times based on product being furnaced.

Safe propane handling and exchange.
Startup/ shut down of Heat Treat cells including pumps, ventilation induction units etc. and run cycles, clearing minor errors while monitor operation.
Basic preventive maintenance of equipment such as regular cleaning, filling/ verifying coolant and quench levels and concentration, greasing, changing saw blades and replacing quench filters.
