ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Fit and tack using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
• Operate hydraulic pushers to complete beam assemblies and fabrication of structural steel
• Report and actively work through issues on a proactive basis to ensure limited delay of production and recommend improvement opportunities in the use of the beam line machine and work methods.
• Responsible for beam line machine maintenance in a condition that does not compromise safety and keeping the machine running in top condition.
• Operation and safe use of hand, power, and air tools
• Operation and safe use of overhead cranes via remote controlled hand control
• Operation and safe use of oxy/fuel gas cutting equipment
• Maintain a safe and clean work space
• Participate in training and further development as needed.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and Identifying hazards or potential hazards
• Any other related work or special assignments that may be assigned
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
• Proven experience as a welder or in a similar role
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures
• Experience in Steel Fabrication Industry
• Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, level etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
• Possess high attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
• Ability to multi-task and work within time sensitive deadlines
• Able to communicate in a positive manner both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Valid drivers License and reliable transportation
