F/T Rod Line Technician (2 positions to be filled)

Primary Role:
The Rod Line Technician is responsible for assisting in the fabrication and packaging of all tubular products (including Drill Rods, Casing, Outer Tubes, and Inner Tubes) while adhering to all  quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
Manually operate of the packing rack cell to peen, oil, stamp, grease and bundle finished product.
Knowledge of different tubular products being bundled including drill rods and casing and colour code to identify thread from, tubing type and lengths.
Use of horizontal bandsaw and correctly maintain lengths, cuts, speeds, and feeds.
Perform daily pre-shift inspection and reporting of forklift and attachments.
Operate forklifts to move product such as pallets, chip bins, bundles, and load/ unload tubular product onto or from manufacturing equipment such as heat treat, lathes and packing racks.
Calculate weights and load center of product being moved with a forklift to ensure safe load ratings are not exceeded.
Safe propane handling and exchange.
Startup/ shut down of Heat Treat cells including pumps, ventilation induction units etc. and run cycles, clearing minor errors while monitor operation.
Basic preventive maintenance of equipment such as regular cleaning, filling/ verifying coolant and quench levels and concentration, greasing, changing saw blades and replacing quench filters.
Maintain a safe working environment and promote health and safety awareness.
Identify, investigate, and correct unsafe practices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Good numeracy skills and basic mathematical knowledge.
Mechanically inclined and attention to detail.
Capable of multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
Forklift experience would be considered an asset.

Physical Demands:
Moderate to heavy lifting (Lift / Carry weights to 50 lbs, Push / Pull weights to 150 lbs).
Repetitive tasks.
Standing for long periods of time.

Minimum Required Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Post-Secondary Trade Certificate or Diploma is an asset.
