General Labourer/Operator
Average 50 hours a week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
. Perform various manual labour tasks related to telecommunication construction;
. Use rakes, shovels, and wheelbarrows
Operate various hand tools;
. Operate battery/gas powered or pneumatic equipment, such as a chainsaw;
. Operate small excavating equipment
. Assist with road safety patrolling on site;
. Complete accurately all work reports;
. Regularly perform Health & Safety inspection of equipment and tools;
. Maintain clean and safe work sites and vehicles;
. Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or Crew Leader;
Knowledge and skills-
. Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail;
. Ability to work in varying weather conditions;
. Ability to work with professionalism, interact politely with customers and the public, and demonstrate excellent work ethic;
. Ability to work in a physically demanding atmosphere, must be able to frequently lift 50+ Ibs;
. Ability to operate various small equipment in a safe manner;
. Must be a self-disciplined, motivated, organized, and a team player;
. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines;
AZ/DZ License an asset
Must- Valid Class G with clean driver’s abstract
No Experience Required, however the following would be considered as assets:
. General civil construction experience;
. Experience operating excavating equipment (e.g. mini backhoe, excavator, cable trencher/plow);
. Telecommunications infrastructure experience;
. Directional Drilling crew experience
